In this hilariously colorful, funky tale collected by Zora Neale Hurston during her southern travels in 1930s America, an enterprising man finds himself witness to all sorts of silliness. With playful folk-art images in bright, tropical hues, the story begins with a love-struck man visiting the family of his beloved, intending to talk about marriage. But after a preposterous incident involving baby names, cider, and flooding, he decides he can`t get married until he finds people as foolish as his intended`s family.
